English learning podcast & and now also a weekly talk-show podcast about football⚽ which reviews the Premier League game weeks. Are you studying English alone? Are you at B1, B2, or C1 level? Do you need more listening practice? If so, I might be your guy!!! 😇. I’m a university and DELTA-qualified English teacher from the Czech Republic with more than 10 years of experience teaching English to foreigners in the Czech Republic as well as the United Kingdom. 🤓. Listening to podcasts is part of my own daily routine because I believe that regular listening is a must for every committed English learner 💪. In my podcasts, you may follow my English learning journey as I interview my friends, students, and interesting people from all around the world 🌍. A lot of my episodes feature native English speakers. Most famously, there are about 10 episodes with Luke Thompson from Luke’s English Podcast who has been my primary source of inspiration 😎. I also have episodes in which I describe my experiences of taking CELTA and DELTA courses, as well as IELTS exam. You will probably find some silly episodes in the archive, too, as I sometimes just want to have fun 😃. Recently, I’ve also started publishing my football show about the Premier League in audio format.

Episode 283 - Nurcan Baysal
Friday Jan 24, 2020
Friday Jan 24, 2020
This episode is dedicated to Nurcan Baysal who is a Kurdish journalist and a human rights activist from Turkey.
Few months ago I taught her in an advanced class here in London. A week later I went to a panel discussion with her in Free Word in Farringdon. I had been invited to this event by my colleague Billie, an English teacher, who also features in this episode.
Essentially, the episode is a series of monologues and dialogues with Billie and also my cousin Honza who as we know knows a lot about history. We try to offer our view on censorship in Turkey, explain who the Kurds are, and try to break down what has been going on in Turkey.
I hope we managed to do justice to Nurcan's unrelenting effort and work. I don't normally do heavier topics like this on my podcast, but I think if approached in the right way, they can have a powerful effect on the audience and I am convinced this was the right thing to do.
